F.A.Q.

When did the Mailing List started?
                                         Who started it all?
Why did you come up with the Mailing List?
                                         Why Off-Mic?
How old are the people in the list?
Are there rules and regulations in the list?
What are your plans for the list?
Do we have to talk about K-lite all the time?
Do I have to be a K-lite listener to join the list?
How long do you think the list will last?

When did the mailing list started?
The mailing list started December 13, 1999 but the first e-mail sent to it was on December 15, 1999.

Who started it all?
Well, I'm Tina Briones and I started it all but it is ongoing because of all the members.

Why did you come up with the mailing list?
I have been listening to K-Lite for quite a long time and I noticed that it has a lot of listeners but only a few really know each other. Thus I decided to make the list so that there will be a venue for the listeners to get to know each other.

Why off-mic?
Off-Mic is a term in the radio industry. When broadcasters say off-mic, it means the plugs are pulled out, the buttons switched off, and everything they say is off the record. And that is exactly what the list is about, an experience of how K-Lite and its listeners are off the air.

How old are the people in the list?
I guess the age range is from 20 onwards although there might be some who are in their late teens like 19.

Are there rules and regulations in the list?
The rules are simple, no cursing or fighting with anyone. I suppose all the members are of legal age so a few expression of angst is okay as long as it is not directed to anyone, in particular. And strictly NO BAD WORDS. For those members who want to quote a song or a story line with some obscenities, it is their responsibility to delete those specific words which are considered sensitive or harmful. Failure to do so would merit them a warning and on the third offense, they would be booted out of the list. And of course, the top rule of all is to have clean fun!

What are your plans for the list?
There is a plan for an eyeball this June and hopefully in the future,we could do some charity works or fund-raising drives.

Do we have to talk about K-lite all the time?
No. While it is a K-Lite mailing list and it is supported by the station itself (as mentioned by Little David), the discussions aren't restricted to just the station itself. Everyone is free to start discussions on what concerns them as long as it is wholesome.

Do I have to be a K-lite listener to join the list?
Yes, because this mailing list is intended as a melting pot for those who love K-Lite and for those who appreciate and support it. Though we talk about other things too, K-Lite is the main reason why the list is here and as the list moderator, it is my responsibility not to lose sight of what this list is about.

How long do you think the list will last?
I think that a major change in programming will cause the listeners to disperse one by one and, thus, the end of the list. But as long as K-Lite is still The Right Kind of Lite, Off-Mic will also be alive.
